Deccan Festival
Every year on 25th February, Deccan Festival is celebrated in Hyderabad for five days. It imitates the culture of the Deccan and emphasizes Hyderabad's culture, arts and crafts, and the well-known lip smacking Nawabi cuisine. Typical of the Hyderabad city, numerous cultural programs are organized which include Ghazals, Qawalis, Poetry etc. Every tourist must visit this festival in Hyderabad in the month of February. This special festival is conducted by the Department of Tourism. Apart from these cultural events, this festival also includes Pearls and Bangles fair, exhibiting beautiful creations of the famous radiant pearls and multicolored bangles that are local specialties. A Food Fair is also organized that offers appetizing items exclusive of both Andhra and Hyderabadi cuisine.

Celebrated from 2nd Friday of December every year for three days, Lumbini Festival is one amongst the major festivals of Andhra Pradesh. Celebrated in honor of the Buddhist Heritage of Andhra Pradesh, this festival provides a close view into the rich Buddhist heritage and takes you back in time almost 2000 years back, to a different world all together. Two main celebration points of this festival are Nagarjuna Sagar and Hyderabad.
The festival is observed to memorialize the religion of Buddhism. The occasion has been named after Lumbini, which is the birth-place of Lord Buddha situated in Nepal. This festival is a sort of admiration to the great soul Buddha, which he taught people through the lesson of purity and serenity throughout his life.
