Excursions From Hyderabad-NagarjunakondaNagarjunakonda (the Hill of Nagarjuna) situated 156 km away from the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad.

The hill of Nagarjunakonda is an Island in the middle of the reservoir, where most of the monuments were relocated. There is a museum at Nagarjunakonda that contains Buddhadatu or remnants excavated from the valley pertaining to Buddha. This museum is a structure modeled along the lines of a "Vihara" and contains a number of valuable pieces of all cultural periods through which the valley passed. Engraved limestone and stone slabs, inscriptions and sculptures dating back of the third and fourth century AD constitute a popular exhibit, arranged methodically in five galleries.

Indeed, the Nagarjunakonda is a significant Buddhist destination with stupas, which portrays scenes from the life of the Buddha. The place is related with a very famous Buddhist scholar of 2nd century A.D, who went by the name of Nagarjuna.
