Amaravati

Amaravati, is one of the most significant Buddhist sites in the country which was formerly called as Dhanyakataka and Andhranagari. Almost 2000 years back, Acharya Nagarjuna constructed the country's largest stupa here. Today, Amaravati is considered as the most holy pilgrim centre for Buddhists in South India. Nagarjuna Sagar Dam

Situated on the borders of Guntur and Nalgonda districts, Nagarjuna Sagar Dam was completed in the year 1966.

Nagarjunakonda

Nagarjunakonda (the Hill of Nagarjuna) situated 156 km away from the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad.

The hill of Nagarjunakonda is an Island in the middle of the reservoir, where most of the monuments were relocated. There is a museum at Nagarjunakonda that contains Buddhadatu or remnants excavated from the valley pertaining to Buddha.

Nehru Zoological Park
