Attractions of Hyderabad-Birla Planetarium HyderabadSince the dawn of human civilization, the emergence of Birla Planetarium in Hyderabad is consequence of a tribute to the advances made in technology and science. Inauguration of this beautiful dome shaped architectural wonder is made by Late Sri N.T.Rama Rao on 8th September 1985. The B.M. Birla Planetarium and Science Museum is a compulsory visit during your trip to Hyderabad. The variety of knowledge which this planetarium offers, kids really enjoy this planetarium.

The Planetarium presents daily sky shows (in Telugu and English) delivering various aspects of the enigmatic Cosmos, the mind boggling mysteries of the Universe, the undying comets, the Hubble Space Telescope, Eclipses, the puzzling Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO's) and the very recent clash of the Titans. As the sky show starts, the visitors are almost transferred into the galaxy as they watch a large canopy of dark sky, full of shining stars looking down upon them. The realistic background sound effect multiplies the sense of being in outer space, which adds to the exhilaration and delight.

The latest adding to the Planetarium is the Dinosorium - a new division which houses, the fossil of 160 million years old "Kotasaurus Yamanpalliensis", excavated in Adilabad district. Besides this highlight, the Dinosaurium also has a collection of smaller fossils of dinosaur eggs, marine shells and fossilized tree trunks. The place always succeeds in beguiling people with its wonderful sky shows of inexplicable universe. This city should not be missed out by children. The Planetarium remains closed on the last Thursday of each month.
